Paul joined Iona Capital in early 2014 in the role of Business Development Director. Initially trained in Civil Engineering, Paul holds a UK Engineering Industries Fellowship in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Construction which he attained whilst undertaking a full time Henley Business School MBA / MSc. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Paul has a wide range of experience in project delivery from initial concept through all phases of project execution across a range of major projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Renewable Energy sectors. His work experience has progressed through front-end feasibility study, engineering design, project development, project management, construction operations, project services and commercial management whilst working for a number of the world’s leading multi-national EPC contractors.
Prior to joining Iona, Paul was engaged as a Specialist Oil & Gas energy consultant for the UK Government’s Trade & Investment department. He has been responsible for managing contractor performance and Client relationship management across a wide range of major projects within the United Kingdom, and in numerous countries in Western Europe, Scandinavia, North America, North Africa, South Africa, and the Middle East and across Asia. Paul has worked in the renewable energy sector since 2005 and was a primary stakeholder and principal consultant in the concept and realisation of the world scale bioethanol plant at Wilton in the United Kingdom.
